Geocaching
is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by
adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to
locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share
your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age
groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the
environment.
There are 646,633 active geocaches around the world.
Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by
the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers have been
dedicated to cleaning up parks and other cache-friendly places around
the world.
Once you have found a
geocache, sign the logbook and return the geocache to its original
location. Afterward, share your geocaching stories and photos online!
Geocaching is free! There are no membership fees to have access
to most caches! There is a "Premium" membership option which
lists additional caches and has other interesting features. You
